Engineering Internships

The Allegheny County Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and engineering/construction of County owned roads, bridges, parks, and buildings, management of the County vehicle fleet and maintenance of the County Jail.

The Department of Public Works, Engineering Division, has unpaid internship opportunities for engineering school students.

Requirements: Must be enrolled in an accredited university engineering program and have computer skills (Word, Excel, Access). Work schedule somewhat flexible, but must be available during daylight hours Monday-Friday.

Possible work assignments: Update and develop the structure management program in the Bridge Unit, assist in preparing work orders for bridge repairs, field view construction projects, assist design projects throughout various stages of development.
