PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Economic Development Department announced today that Mr. Victor H. Diaz has been named Chair of the seven-member Finance and Development Commission which serves as the managing entity of the Allegheny County Industrial Development Authority, the Allegheny County Hospital Development Authority, the Allegheny County Higher Education Building Authority, and the Allegheny County Residential Finance Authority.
Diaz, the founder and President of VideoTek Construction, also co-founded VTC Supply in 2011. Born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, Victor immigrated with his family to Elizabeth, N.J. in 1966. He holds a degree in Environmental Science from Rutgers University. He has resided in Pittsburgh since August of 2000. In the non-profit arena, Mr. Diaz co-founded the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Foundation. He remains a board member for both organizations. In 2013, he founded the Pittsburgh Hispanic Development Corporation, a Community Development Corporation serving the Pittsburgh area. The organization’s mission is to attract Hispanic investment and workforce to the region.
In addition to Mr. Diaz, Finance and Development Commission board members include John Brown, Dan Connolly, James Dodaro, Marilyn Liggett, Michael Polite and Stephanie Turman.
