PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald issued the following statement this evening following the passage of the 2014 Capital Budget by Allegheny County Council:
“I commend Allegheny County Council for taking action this evening on the capital budget for 2014. The legislation approved this evening will allow over 30 road and bridge projects to move forward in the new year in various communities throughout this county. It also allows us to take full advantage of the funding recently approved in the transportation bill passed at the state level.
“The budget process is always an involved and complicated one, but it is made much easier when there is give and take between the members and my administration. I am grateful for those members who put their service to the residents first when making decisions, and look forward to continuing to work with them to move our county forward.”
