Realignment of Brownsville-Broughton Project Complete Ahead of Schedule

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Public Works, in cooperation with PennDOT District 11, today announced that the 2-1/2 year, $8.9 Million realignment of Brownsville-Broughton is now complete following a 30-day traffic signal test cycle.

The project corridor included county-owned Brownsville Road, Old Brownsville Road, Horning Road and PennDOT-owned State Route 2040. The project included the improvement of five intersections with two new and two upgraded signals, turn lanes and over one-half mile of roadway improvements. The contractor, Frank J. Zottola Construction of Valencia, PA, finished the project within budget and two months ahead of schedule.  Additionally, consulting engineer design services of SAI Consultants and Trumbull Construction Management Services for Inspection and additional management support.
