Council Member Burn Statement on the Passing of Joseph B. Natoli

PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County Council Member Jim Burn has issued the followingstatement upon news of the death of Joseph B. Natoli:

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Joe Natoli, a coach, mentor and friend to countless people. Joe was appointed in 2002 to fill a vacancy in the District 13 seat of the inaugural County Council after the passing of Tom Foerster. Joe was always responsive to the needs of his Council District which included Millvale.  Joe worked with me when I was Millvale’s mayor and was instrumental in helping to revitalize the Borough.  His career also spanned forty-years in the Pittsburgh Parks and Recreation Department and Parks and Recreation for Allegheny County, where he served as Director. He also served as Director of Veterans Affairs before his retirement. He founded the Morningside Little League Baseball Association and remained active in the organization for over 50 years. He was President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame, and was instrumental in founding Pittsburgh’s Columbus Day Parade. We extend our condolences to his family and friends. The time and dedication he committed to serving the needs of the residents of Allegheny County is immeasurable and will not be forgotten. His legacy of commitment to public service and devotion to his family and community will live on forever.”
