Human Services Leadership
PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County Human Services Director Marc Cherna recently presented at the 2013 Human Services Summit at Harvard University. This year’s theme was “Leadership in an Era of Disruption” and Director Cherna served on a panel with Gary Glickman, Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Department of the Treasury, and Kimberlee Cornett, Director of Social Investment Practice at the Kresge Foundation.
“We are proud that Allegheny County has once again been recognized on the national level for its innovative approach to human services and thank Director Cherna for his contributions to forwarding practices here at home and nationally,” said Allegheny County Chief Executive Rich Fitzgerald.
The panel that Director Cherna was part of, “Innovations in Financing Human Services,” looked at how human service leaders can use a variety of available funding options to make organizational and technological changes.
The annual Human Services Summit is an opportunity for government officials, researchers, and leaders in the human services field to exchange ideas through open discussions, workshops, and case studies. Along with being a presenter, Director Cherna also served on the summit’s Executive Leadership Group.
