PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that fourteen new food establishments opened in the County in July. There were six restaurants, two confectionaries, a coffee house, a mobile vendor, two retailers, a food market, and a caterer.
“The Health Department’s monthly report highlights the new restaurants that use trans-fat free cooking oils. Five out of the six eateries that opened in July cook with these healthier oils,” said Acting County Health Director Dr. Ron Voorhees.
The restaurants using trans-fat free cooking oils are Sushi With Gusto, 1551 Washington Boulevard, Mt. Lebanon; The Grotto, 403 Perry Highway, Ross; Ms. LezLee’s Front Porch, 1511 Maple Avenue, Turtle Creek; Custard’s First Stand, 315 Camp Horne Road, Kilbuck; and Marroni’s Lounge, One Ohio River Boulevard, Leetsdale.
The other restaurant is Twilight Pizzeria, 735 Brownsville Road, Mt. Oliver.
Eight other food establishments opened last month: Crazy Mocha, 5067 Baum Boulevard, Shadyside; Sincerely Yogurt, 511 Beaver Street, Leetsdale; Pat Catan’s, 250 Mount Nebo Road, Ohio; Klavon’s Ice Cream Parlor, 2801 Penn Avenue, Strip District; American Natural Energy Center, 73 East Carson Street, Southside; Trios Market, 3900 Perrysville Avenue, North Side; A & K’s Mobile Market, 629 South Parkview Street, North Braddock; and Rick Ferg’s Catering, 917 Duquesne Boulevard, Duquesne.
