PITTSBURGH – Verizon has reported that there is a landline phone outage affecting approximately 25 customers in the Dormont area due to wet fiber and cables, which could have occurred as a result of yesterday’s rains and flooding. Those customers do not have dial tone service and are unable to dial 911 or any other phone number. There is no estimated date as to when service will be restored at this time.
Customers experiencing an outage are encouraged to use available cell phones for emergency calls, or to find a neighbor without Verizon service.
