Allegheny County Parks Activities, Events & Concerts for July 2-8

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Parks Department today announced its activities, events and concerts schedule for July 2-8. All events are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted. $15 admission. A riotous Baby Boomer musical by Jerry & Steve Mayer about growing up at 60. The adventures of aging are filtered through three married couples that have known each other for more than 30 years. The husbands are fed up with the fact that their gender roles seem to have switched over the years, while the wives disapprove of their spouses' antics. Horses with Hope is a faith-based, non-profit organization that provides therapeutic riding and other equine-related activities to enhance the physical, mental, social & emotional needs of children & adults. Each session is taught by a PATH International certified instructor & trained volunteers who lead the horse and use side-walkers on each side of the rider. Each rider is instructed on horsemanship, grooming, tacking & mounted riding. The skills are determined by the rider’s capabilities & the instructor, while focusing on as much independence as possible. We are committed to providing safe, quality programs for children & adults. L.L. Bean Pittsburgh Outing Club – Community Impact Outing Cleanup & Hike 

Free. Join L.L. Bean Pittsburgh as we continue our monthly series of Community Impact Outings, which combine an outreach opportunity with an outdoor activity. These family-friendly outings will strengthen our bonds with nature, as well as with others in the community. 

July's CIO will combine a shoreline cleanup followed with a short hike. Partnering with Friends of North Park, we'll spend about an hour performing litter removal along the North Park Lake shorelines near the intersection of Pearce Mill Road and Babcock Boulevard. After the cleanup, we'll embark on a short hike. We will provide gloves, trash bags, safety vests, and water (to reduce waste, bring your own water bottle). You are asked to wear long pants and hiking boots or sturdy shoes, and to bring trash pick-up tools, water bottle, walking stick or trekking poles, and eye protection.
