Sixth Street Bridge Inspections Begin Monday, May 13

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Department of Public Works today announced that Sixth Street Bridge (Roberto Clemente Bridge) inspections will begin on Monday, May 13, 2013.  In order for crews to perform the bridge inspection, the bridge will be closed to motorists and pedestrians from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the following dates, weather permitting:

  • May 13-16, 2013
  • May 20-22, 2013
  • May 24, 2013

Motorists should use caution and be prepared for changing traffic patterns.  Traffic will be detoured onto the Seventh Street Bridge (Andy Warhol Bridge), and lane restrictions on the Tenth Street Bypass will also be required.  The crews will also utilize a river barge to inspect portions of the bridge.
