Eight New Food Establishments Opened In December

 PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that eight new food establishments opened in the County in December.  All were restaurants.

“The Health Department’s monthly reports identify which new restaurants use trans-fat free cooking oils, and six out of the eight eateries opening last month cook with these healthier oils,” said Acting County Health Director Dr. Ron Voorhees.

The restaurants using trans-fat free cooking oils are Dubby’s, 705 Brushton Avenue, Homewood; La Felice Pizzeria, 3324 Babcock Boulevard, Ross; Pizza Hut, 3747 William Penn Highway and Biryani Indian Restaurant, 4063 William Penn Highway, both in Monroeville; Pizza Pronto, 518 California Avenue, Avalon; and Tan Lac Vien, 2114 Murray Avenue, Squirrel Hill.

Two other food establishments opened in December:  Nicky’s Thai Kitchen, 903 Penn Avenue, Downtown and Mint Hookah Bar & Lounge, 416 Semple Street, Oakland.
