MCKEESPORT - At a time of season when charitable groups are asked to give even more, the Mon River Fleet Club came to the Kane Regional Center in McKeesport bearing gifts.
Lions Club International is a volunteer organization dedicated to leadership development through community service. Lions are an international network of 1.4 million men and women in 206 countries who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities.
The Mon Valley River Lions Club donated two Christmas trees to the Kane Regional Center in McKeesport. District Governor Alice Jones and Lion Dee Connor coordinated the project and visited Kane to deliver the trees. The residents of Kane decorated the trees to their taste and now are enjoying the festive environment.
“The staff and residents truly appreciated the visit and the Christmas trees,” said Charlene Yoder Administrator at Kane McKeesport and 1st Vice President with the Lions. “We are grateful for the gifts and the time that the Lions spent at Kane McKeesport.”
