Santa Claus to Visit Three County Parks, Share Cookies with Local Girls & Boys

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Office of Special Events today announced that in a dramatic turn of events, Santa Claus will take time out of his extremely busy schedule and visit three county parks to share cookies with local girls and boys.

The Jolly Old Elf will be at the World Wide Web Icon North Park Boathouse on Saturday, December 1, the World Wide Web Icon Boyce Park Four Seasons Lodge on Saturday, December 8, and the World Wide Web Icon South Park Home Economics Building on Saturday, December 15. All events will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and are free and open to all good boys and girls.

In addition to St. Nick, the events will include holiday crafts, musical entertainment, KDKA “KidKast,” holiday movies, refreshments, and of course, cookies!

Allegheny County and Santa are asking those attending the events to consider bringing a new toy or book to donate to the DHS Holiday Project, which provides gifts to children and youth receiving services through the Department of Human Services Office of Children, Youth & Families. Additional information and gift ideas are available at www.alleghenycounty.us/dhs/holidayproject.aspx.

“Cookies with Santa” is made possible thanks to Eat’n Park, NewsRadio 1020 KDKA, Colteryahn Dairy, Oakmont Bakery and the Allegheny Regional Asset District.
