Three of Seven New Restaurants Uses Healthier Cooking Oils
PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that twelve new food establishments opened in the County last month, including seven restaurants and five bakeries.
“The Health Department’s monthly reports identify which new restaurants use trans-fat free cooking oils, and three out of the seven eateries opening last month cook with these healthier oils,” said Acting County Health Director, Dr. Ron Voorhees.
The restaurants using trans-fat free cooking oils are Sushi House, 1000 Ross Park Mall Drive, Ross; Roxanne’s Take-Out & Catering, 4124 Main Street, Bloomfield; and Kelly O’s Diner In The Strip, 100 24th Street, Strip District
Four other restaurants opened in July – Slate Bistro, 24 Donati Road, Bethel Park; MAC Diner, 4848 William Flynn Highway, #4, Hampton; Subway, 1035 Fifth Avenue, Downtown; and Calico Cat, 36 East Main Street, Carnegie.
Five additional food establishments opened last month: Madison Avenue Specialty Cakes, 994 Perry Highway, Ross; Genarro’s Bakery, 4366 Old William Penn Highway, Monroeville; Bruegger’s Bagels, B-Wing, Pittsburgh International Airport, Findlay; Dee’s Delights, 512-4 East 8th Avenue, Munhall; and Pittsburgh Pretzel Café, 5624 Brownsville Road, Baldwin Borough.
