Jordan Narr Crowned Boys Runner-Up at 89th National Marbles Tournament

PITTSBURGH – The Allegheny County Parks Department today announced that 14-year-old Jordan Narr of Lawrenceville, the reigning Allegheny County Boys Marbles Champion, was crowned boys runner-up at the 89th National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood, N.J. Emily Cavacini, Brook Narr, Nick Cavacini and Ben Eddings were eliminated from the tournament during today’s semi-final rounds.

The 2013 Allegheny County Marbles Program will begin next March. Clinics and competitions will take place through May at various locations throughout the county. The marbles program is free to children and youth ages 14 and under.

Allegheny County’s marbles program has produced a number of national champions. Last year, Bailey Narr won the girls national championship, and Brandon Matchett won the boys national championship. Past girls national champions also include Penelope Bauer in 2010, Amber Ricci in 2008, Alexandra Bauer in 2007, and Carly Miller in 2004. Past boys national champions include John Leffakis in 2008, Keith Moss in 2006, and Jamie Miller in 2005.
