One of Seven New Restaurants Use Healthier Cooking Oils
The Allegheny County Health Department today reported that ten new food establishments opened in the County last month, including seven restaurants, one market, one bakery and a caterer.
The Health Department’s monthly reports identify which new restaurants practice trans-fat free cooking, and one out of the seven eateries opening last month cooks with these healthier oils.
The restaurant employing trans-fat free cooking is Pittsburgh Grill And Sports Bar, 381 North Shore Drive, North Side.
Six other restaurants opened in March – Industry Public House, 4305 Butler Street, Lawrenceville; Golden Star, 4655 William Flynn Highway, Suite 123, Hampton; Eden, 735 Copeland Avenue, Shadyside; Gia Visto 4366 Old William Penn Highway, Monroeville; The Big Idea Cooperative, 4812 Liberty Avenue, Bloomfield; and Biddle’s Escape, 401 Biddle Avenue, Regent Square.
Three additional food establishments opened last month: Sumi’s Cakery, 2119 Murray Avenue and Dorian’s Catering, 1303 Shady Avenue, both in Squirrel Hill and Trios Market, 3900 Perrysville Avenue, North Side.
