Fitzgerald & County Council to Hold Reassessment Town Hall Meetings in Monroeville and Bethel Park This Week and Penn Hills Next Week

PITTSBURGH – County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and County Council President Charles Martoni will hold a town hall meeting to assist homeowners with the 2013 court-ordered reassessment from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at the CCAC Boyce Lecture Hall located at 595 Beatty Road in Monroeville.

The County Executive and County Council Member Vince Gastgeb will hold a reassessment town hall meeting from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, in the Bethel Park High School Auditorium located at 309 Church Road in Bethel Park.

The County Executive and County Council Vice President Nicholas Futules will hold a reassessment town hall meeting from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, in the Linton Middle School Auditorium located at 260 Aster Street in Penn Hills.

The town hall meetings will include a presentation that explains the reassessment process, how to file and prepare for informal reviews and formal appeals, and other options for reducing assessed values, as well as a question-and-answer period. In addition, county staff will be on hand to assist property owners with filing various forms. Legal and real estate professionals will also be present to provide free one-on-one advice and assistance.

The county will announce the nine remaining town hall meeting dates and locations as they are confirmed. No registration is required, and the sessions are free and open to all. Property owners from any community are welcome to attend town hall meetings throughout the county.
