Pirate Parrot Raises the Jolly Roger at Kane Scott

Residents Hopeful For a Winning 2012 Season

The Pirate Parrot flew into the Kane Regional Center in Scott Township on January 30th much to the delight of the residents and staff.  The center was decorated with Pirate pictures, memorabilia and Pirate balloons.  There was plenty of discussion amongst the residents regarding past Pirate championship teams and prospects for the 2012 season.

The residents were thrilled at the Parrot’s antics as he frolicked about the room.  The Parrot was the guest of honor at the bingo game and personally handed out the prizes.  The laughter from the residents could be heard up and down the hallways.

“We are appreciative of the Pirates organization and their support of the Kane Regional Centers” said Marci Donovan, Recreational Therapy Supervisor at the Kane Regional Center at Scott.  “The residents always attend a few games per season and the Pirates make special arrangements for their comfort”.

Soon the cold days of January will turn into the dog days of summer and the Battling Bucs will be in the thick of the season.  As the whole city roots for the Pirates the residents at Kane Scott will also remember the merriment when the Pirate Parrot came to visit!
