Soup and Bake Sale Benefits the Kane Foundation
The Kane Regional Center in Glen Hazel will kick off one of the biggest sports weekends of the year in an appetizing fashion.
The NFL has Super Bowl Sunday. Kane Glen Hazel has its own “Souper Bowl” Friday.
While much of the nation turns its figurative eyes to Sunday’s Super Bowl between the New England Patriots and New York Giants, soup and tasty baked goods will be on the menu two days earlier as part of the popular “Souper Bowl” event at Kane Glen Hazel.
“The many different contributions we receive from staff and the volunteers make the Souper Bowl a very special event at Kane,” said Judy Fockler, Social Services Supervisor at Kane Glen Hazel. “We appreciate all of the different types of soup and goodies that everyone contributes. When we’ve had the Souper Bowl and our chili events in the past, everyone looks forward to seeing all the different types of soup and baked goods that our participants create. No one leaves hungry.”
The menu typically features chili, broccoli cheese noodle, beef vegetable and seafood bisque. A wide variety of baked goods complement the soup entrees. The “Souper Bowl” begins at 10 a.m. and runs through 3:30 p.m.
Donations benefit the Kane Foundation.
