The Twilight Wish Foundation presented the North Hills Highlands senior independent living community a Nintendo Wii gaming system.
Twilight Wish is a non-profit charitable organization that grants wishes to economically-disadvantaged seniors age 68 and older who cannot make their own dreams come true.
“It was an honor to work with Twighlight wish,” said Dan Hillegas, Assistant Property Manager at North Hills Highlands. Sue Crump, Volunteer Coordinator at nearby Kane Regional Center in Ross Township, has worked with Twilght Wish in the past and helped submit the wish on behalf of North Hills Highlands, which with Kane Ross is part of the county’s continuum of care.
“Not only will this wish strengthen our community relationships by gathering residents together for fun, it also strengthens our seniors by providing physical interactions,” Hillegas said. “The residents are so excited that they have been discussing weekly Wii gatherings where they can join leagues and socialize, cheering each other on.”
Twilight Wish’s Wendy Long presented the Wii system, which included a console, two games and a pair of hand-held controllers.
