PITTSBURGH – Allegheny County Public Works, in cooperation with PennDOT District 11,  today announced temporary traffic stoppages as part of the $8.6 million project to improve the intersection of Brownville Road (State Route 2040), Broughton Road and Curry Hollow Road in South Park Township, Baldwin and Pleasant Hills.

From Tuesday, November 15, through Thursday, November 17, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., short-term traffic stoppages will occur due to cranes and tractor trailers entering and exiting the project site. Stoppages are expected to last five to 10 minutes for both northbound and southbound traffic on Brownsville and Curry Hollow roads. South Park Township and Pleasant Hills police will be on hand controlling traffic.

The traffic stoppages are necessary to set a series of precast concrete sections for a culvert extension under the new and expanded roadway that is part of the intersection realignment.

The project is being sponsored and managed by the Allegheny County Department of Public Works. PennDOT is overseeing the project due to the federal funding involved.
