County Reminds Veterans of Special Offers in Honor of Veterans Day

 PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Veterans Services today reminded veterans of the following special offers and discounts available to them in honor of Veterans Day.

Outback Steakhouse is honoring America’s military veterans and those in active duty by offering a free Bloomin’ Onion and a Coca-Cola product Monday, November 7 – Friday, November 11. This offer is available to Military Personnel who have one of the following forms of identifications: U.S Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), DD form 214 Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW), Photograph in Uniform, Wearing Uniform. Last year, Applebee’s served 1,024,000 free meals to military veterans and active service members. Applebee’s is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active duty service members on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11. There will be 7 entrées to choose from. Chili’s is offering all military past and present their choice of one of six meals On Friday, November 11. Dine-in only; beverages and gratuity not included. Veterans and active duty military simply show proof of military service. Visit Chili’s website to find participating locations

Many Subway restaurants are offering a free six-inch sub to military veterans on Veterans Day, November 11th. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Subway is participating.

Krispy Kreme is giving a free doughnut to all active duty personnel and military veterans on Friday, November 11th. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.  

At the Spaghetti Warehouse buy one Lasagna or any Original Recipe Spaghetti and get one Lasagna or any Original Recipe Spaghetti for 11 cents. Only valid on Friday, November 11th and must present printed coupon

Texas Roadhouse restaurants are offering free meals on Veterans Day, November 11th, from the time the restaurant opens until 4:00PM. Visit their website for information about participating locations.

On Friday, November 11th, Uno’s is offering a free entrée or individual pizza with a purchase of an entrée or pizza of equal or greater value. Offer good for all veterans and active duty military. Visit their site for locations and more information.

7-Eleven is offering allveterans and active duty military personnel and their immediate family members a free small Slurpee drink between 11:00AM and 7:00PM on Friday, November 11. 

T.G.I. Friday’s is offering buy one get one free November 11th thru the 14th. At participating locations for anyone with an veteran or current military ID. 

McCormick & Schmick’s is celebrating their 13th annual Veterans Appreciation Event on Sunday, November 13th with free lunch or dinner. Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary lunch or dinner entrée. Veterans must provide proof of military service. Be sure to contact your local McCormick & Schmick’s as this is valid at participating restaurants only. Also, Space is limited and reservations are highly recommended. 

The 10th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm in all Golden Corral Restaurants nationwide. The free “thank you” dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran or currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner. Hooters is offering all veterans and active duty military personnel 10 free traditional or boneless wings on November 11th. Drink purchase is required and valid military ID or proof of military service must be presented. Visit Hooters’ website for more information and participating locations.

Anheuser-Busch Parks, throughout 2011, offers Active Duty Service members of the military and as many as three direct dependents single-day complimentary admission to SeaWorld, Busch Gardens or Sesame Place parks by registering on their website or submitting information at the entrance to participating parks.  The “Here’s to the Heroes” program is available to any active duty service member, activated or drilling reservist, or National Guardsman.  Eligible parks include: Adventure Island, Busch Gardens (Tampa Bay or Williamsburg), SeaWorld (Orlando, San Diego, or San Antonio), Sesame Place, and Water Country USA. Not valid at Discovery Cove and Aquatica. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va. is not included as part of this program. Colonial Williamsburg offers free weekend-long admission tickets to active duty military, reservists, retirees, veterans, and their immediate dependents Friday, November 11th through Sunday, November 13th. The complimentary ticket includes admission to Colonial Williamsburg exhibition sites, art museums, and most daytime programs, as well as free parking and use of the shuttle bus system. To honor America’s service men and women, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced that areas managed by the National Park Service would not charge entrance fees for Veteran’s Day weekend – November 11th through 13th. Over 100 national Parks will be participating in this event

B&Bs for Vets has organized more than 485 participating Bed and Breakfasts and Inns across the United States and Canada to offer veterans a free night’s stay on Thursday, November 10th. This offer is available to both active duty military members and veterans with ID, but space is limited. Sam’s Club® locations nationwide will distribute 36,000 Hugo® canes free of charge November 9th through 11th to U.S. military veterans in need of mobility assistance. The Home Depot is offering all active duty personnel, reservists, retired military, veterans and their families a 10% discount off their purchases in honor of Veterans Day. The offer is valid on purchases of up to $2,000 for a maximum of $200 and is available at The Home Depot stores, The Home Depot Design Center locations, Yardbirds and EXPO Design Center locations. A year-round, 10% discount, up to a $500 for a maximum of $50, is offered at all U.S. stores to all active duty military personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and their immediate families. Customers requesting the discount should present a valid military ID.  

Lowesoffers an all day, every day 10% discount to all military personnel who are active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members, with a valid, government-issued military ID card. 

Thousands of car washes around the country are offering U.S. veterans a free car wash on Veterans Day. Find a list at Grace for Veterans, which helped veterans receive 101,537 FREE Washes on Veterans Day in 2010.
