PITTSBURGH — Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato today announced that Emergency Services Director Chief Bob Full has submitted his resignation to accept a position as Chief Deputy Director with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency in Harrisburg.

“Chief Full and his department have continually led the way in emergency preparedness,” said Onorato. “His experience as Chair of Pennsylvania Region 13 and his expertise in disaster management made the County safer place to live, work and play. Chief Full also worked to improve the knowledge and skills of first responders and Local Emergency Planning Committees, and he helped to set the standards for all of Southwestern Pennsylvania. I wish him continued success in his new position.”

Full began his employment with Allegheny County in January 1998.  His resignation will be effective March 6, 2011.

Onorato intends to appoint an interim chief of emergency services and will announce his plans to search for a permanent replacement in the future.
