The John Kane Regional Center in Scott Township has maintained its status as a 5 Star Facility based on ratings by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Kane Scott Township was placed among the top 9 percent of nursing homes throughout the country based on its quality of care, according to CMS.

“The administration and staff at Kane Scott Township are honored by our maintaining our CMS 5 Star Rating,” Kane Scott Township Administrator Carolyn Pilewski said. “At Kane Scott we strive to provide the best quality care to our residents.”

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services quality rating system gives each nursing home a rating between 1 and 5 stars. Nursing homes with 5 stars are considered to be much above average.

In addition to the Overall 5-star rating, each nursing home receives a separate rating for three other categories: Health Inspections; Staffing; and Quality Measures (QM).
