Under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant to the Medical Examiner, the Receptionist will operate the Office of the Medical Examiner’s switchboard.
This position is responsible for answering telephones, transferring calls to the appropriate extension, recording and distributing messages and greeting and directing visitors throughout the office.
Training and Experience
A minimum of two (2) years college or its equivalent, the ability to type a minimum of forty-five (45) words per minute, computer literacy with some knowledge of Word Perfect, superior organizational skills and the ability to work under stressful conditions are all requirements for this position.
- Answering telephones.
- Directing calls to the appropriate extension.
- Recording and distributing messages.
- Receiving incoming mail.
- Greeting and directing Medical Examiner visitors and guests.
- Occasional typing.
- Occasional statement Preparation.
- Occasional retrieving of records.
