Risk Management and Workers' Compensation - Law Department

 

The Risk Management section of the Department of Law is responsible for the management of the Property and Casualty Program for the County of Allegheny. This includes Loss Control efforts geared toward the prevention of work related injuries and illnesses within our own County Departments and Row Offices, as well as loss control relative to potential property and liability claims against the County.

We also manage the County's self-insured Workers' Compensation Program, which services our own employees. Over the past few years, we have been able to decrease the number of old and new work injuries as well as to decrease overall program costs significantly.

Effective January 1, 2001, this office handles ALL County property and casualty liability.
