SALARY: $2,502.58 per month maximum

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED AND Two years of experience in a healthcare facility as a payroll or staffing coordinator using an automated time and attendance system. |
Duties:
- Reviews time records for completeness and accuracy, contacts individual supervisors to discuss or correct any anomalies, and enters data from exception logs.
- Checks calculations on all types of overtime to insure employees receive proper compensation in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and federal law.
- Verifies check amounts against original input to insure payments are proper and complete.
- Sorts and distributes W-2 forms, occupational tax receipts and paychecks; mails paychecks to employee residences upon request.
- Processes payroll changes, including employee requests for direct deposit, and forms for retirement and termination.
- Reviews for conformance with contractual requirements and processes uniform allowances and weekend pay adjustments for payment.
- Photocopies and inputs accounts payable vouchers and nursing agency invoices into the JD Edwards fiscal accounting software system.
- Processes entries as needed into an automated scheduling software system.
- Reviews and processes accident report forms; calculates employee pay relating to workers’ compensation.
- Assists the Payroll Manager with periodic audits, reports, and verification of payroll data and related documentation.
- Provides public information, such as employment verification, wages, etc., to authorized agencies, organizations, lending institutions, or legal authorities in accordance with current laws, rules, and regulations.
- Performs related work as required or requested by the Payroll Manager, Accounting Manager, or Chief Financial Officer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- General office practices and procedures
- Provisions of collective bargaining agreements relating to calculation of leave, overtime, shift differentials and uniform allowances
- Federal and state laws relating to the calculation and payment of pay
Ability to:
- Operate office equipment, i.e. personal computer, fax, copy machines
- Understand written and oral instructions
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, County officials, residents, and the public
- Accurately perform arithmetic computations and calculations
- Work weekends and travel to and from all four regional centers
Residency: Must become a resident of Allegheny County within one (1) year of appointment.
Veteran's Preference: Will be awarded to eligible candidates.
