In celebration of National Safety Month, each week of June, we will have a focus topic aimed at potential hazards that you may encounter.

Presentations are free and open to all County employees. You can attend one or all of the seminars.  Please confirm your attendance with your Supervisor before registering. Register for the CPR class at least one week in advance.  Register by contacting Brian Godfrey:

Emergency Preparedness 

When planning for a potential emergency, the basics of survival are important.  Officer Spagnoletti of the Allegheny County Police Department can educate you on the skills needed.

Ergonomics 

Ergonomics is the science of designing a workplace to maximize worker's safety and well-being and prevent injury, particularly repetitive stress injury, according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Training is vital in implementing effective ergonomics in the workplace.

Trenching & Confined Space Awareness 

Ditch the classroom and get your hands dirty with this hands-on outdoor training.  This training is greatly encouraged for ALL trades, but open to all County employees.

Canine Safety  

This training is designed for those employees who work in the field.  This includes everyone from the trades, to caseworkers and everyone in between.  Let the experts from C.A.E.S.A.R. teach you how to safely interact with the actual rescue dogs themselves.
