Allegheny Activates

Older Americans Month

Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald has designated the month of May as “Older Americans Month” in Allegheny County and released a list of activities planned in senior centers throughout the county to celebrate the month.

“One of our greatest assets in this region is our people, and particularly our seniors. We can learn a great deal from the nearly 287,000 of our residents are ages 60 and older,” said County Executive Fitzgerald. “They play a vital role in our community, acting as mentors, teachers, friends and inspirations to all those with whom they interact. This month of activities is dedicated to recognizing their stories of strength and survivorship, triumph and tribulations, victories and disappointments, and so much more.”
