Fire Department Station Training
In 2004, Allegheny County Fire Academy (ACFA) and the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) initiated Fire Department Station Training. This iniative was well received by the area fire departments. These programs are a series of "stand alone" courses to be delivered at local fire stations as an evening or weekend training session.
The ACFA will supply an instructor and the materials needed to deliver the training to the requesting fire department. The programs range from three to eight hours in length. Some programs are classroon, hands-on, or a combination of both.
Programs are available in the following areas:
- Fire Behavior
- Assisting Special Rescue Teams
- Fire Suppression
- Hazardous Materials R&I
- Hose, Nozzles and Streams
- Incident Management Systems
- Ropes and Knots
- Water Supply
