DHS launches “Use Your Words” campaign to promote the importance of talking to babies and children
On Sept. 23, DHS launched an awareness campaign to enlighten parents and caregivers on the developmental benefit of talking — a lot — to their young children, ages birth to 5.  

Project LAUNCH pilots state health initiative in Allegheny County
DHS is joining with other partners to implement a federal grant designed to improve early childhood intervention and promote the wellness of young children.

The standardization of information processing across DHS is moving forward with the successful roll out of a new electronic system to be used for the Information, Referral and Emergency Services (IRES) unit under the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH).

DHS receives $1.5 million grant from R. K. Mellon Foundation to expand informational technology systems
DHS has received a $1.5 million grant from the Richard K. Mellon Foundation that will allow it to take important steps to integrate care, empower individuals and families in directing their care, and employ data-driven decision-making.
