Financial Assistance with Medicare Part D

Are you low income, but not low enough to qualify for Medical Assistance?  You may be eligible for “extra help” with paying Medicare D premiums, deductibles and co-pays. There are two ways for low income Medicare participants in Pennsylvania to receive financial additional assistance for prescription drugs, depending on your age.

If you are 65 or older

You can apply for PACEPLUS, a prescription drug assistance program in Pennsylvania.  http://pacecares.fhsc.com/

If you are under 65

You can apply for a Low Income Subsidy from the Social Security Administration, or through the local county assistance office of the Department of Welfare at 1-800-692-7462.

Prescription Drug Discounts

Additionally, many of the pharmaceutical corporations offer discounts on various brand named drugs for individuals who are lower income.  The Partnership for Prescription Assistance in Pennsylvania (PPARxPA) works to connect low income individuals with these discount prescription drugs, direct from the pharmaceutical manufacturer.  To learn more about PPARxPA and see if you qualify, visit their web site at www.pparxpa.com/ or call them at 1-888-477-2669.
