Meetings held to gather input for planning of children and youth services
Two meetings were held in June to gather recommendations for children and youth services that will help DHS develop the Integrated Children’s Service Plan (ICSP) and the Needs Based Plan and Budget (NBPB).
Candidates’ Comedy Night 2011 shows ‘different side’ of political, judicial contenders, tickets available
On Thursday, August 18, DHS will host Candidates' Comedy Night 2011, an annual fundraising event held at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead.
DHS SummerFood program to run through Aug.19
DHS will operate SummerFood, a free breakfast, lunch and recreation program for children and youth 18 years of age and younger in economically disadvantaged communities through August 19, 2011.
AAA hosts public hearing on future Plan & Budget, includes Protective Services presentation
The Advisory Council of the DHS Area Agency on Aging (AAA) held a public hearing on Tuesday, June 14 at 10:00 a.m., in the Gold Room on the fourth floor of the County Courthouse.

On June 29, at the Pennsylvania State Refugee Resettlement Annual Consultation, DHS was awarded with the Excellence in Service Award for its work to meet the needs of the refugee population in Allegheny County.
