Summer Youth Employment Program announces 600 summer ‘green’ jobs for County youth
Allegheny County Summer Youth Employment Program, overseen by the DHS Office of Community Services, Bureau of Employment and Training, announced 600 summer jobs for youth in the County thanks to a $1.87 million grant from the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

Outstanding Foster Parents of the Year honored for dedication to needs of children, families
For the past nine years, in recognition of May as National Foster Parent Month, DHS has hosted an appreciation dinner to honor foster parents associated with the DHS Office of Children, Youth and Families.

DHS, JPO seek opinions on new children’s service plan, budget
DHS and the Juvenile Probation Office (JPO) are preparing the drafts of the 2010-2011 Integrated Children’s Services Plan (ICSP) and the Needs Based Plan and Budget (NBPB) using a survey tool that can be completed online or in hard copy.
