DHS Helps Promote Available Resources During Self-Help Awareness Month 

DHS has partnered with public service organizations and agencies to promote awareness of Allegheny County’s wealth of volunteer and peer support groups with a campaign in January to mark National Self-Help Awareness Month. 

Area Agency on Aging Undergoes Realignment 

Continuing to meet the challenges of both shifts in service needs for older adults in Allegheny County and financial support for those services has necessitated realignment in some administration at the Department of Human Services Area Agency on Aging.

“Magical Sparkly Greeting Cards” Are Delivered to Some Holiday Project Recipients 

One Holiday Project donation stands out because of its link between two groups of children with needs.

JW Wallace, the New Administrator for Education and Training 

Since September, JW Wallace has been working to ensure that employee education and training lead to improved workplace performance for employees and supervisors.

Kudos goes out to Sonia Thomas, Nursing Home Transition Coordinator at the AAA, for assisting with moving the mother of a DHS staff member from a skilled nursing facility to an apartment.
