Foster youth help raise funds for ACMFF by performing at three DHS events

DHS Director testifies before PA Senate Committee about definition of child abuse
On Friday, Aug. 26, DHS Director Marc Cherna testified before the Pennsylvania Senate Committee on Aging and Youth regarding Senate Bill 753, which seeks to expand the definition of child abuse to include mothers of children who test positive at birth for a controlled substance.
2-1-1 is coming to southwestern Pennsylvania
Human services information and referral service phone line, 2-1-1, soft launched this summer in southwestern Pennsylvania, providing an easy way for residents to get connected to Emergency Homeowners’ Loan Program (EHLP) funding, as well as to other vital human services.
Candidates raise $37,500 for kids at Comedy Night
On Thursday, August 18, the Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead played host to a different kind of crowd. That night, patrons enjoyed laughs compliments of political candidates performing for the 4th annual Candidates’ Comedy Night, an event organized by DHS to benefit the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund (ACMFF).
