Kudos: Allegheny County Drug Court

Common Pleas Judge Lester G. Nauhaus sent handwritten notes to members of the Department of Human Services (DHS) Justice Related Services (JRS) staff, congratulating them on the recent recertification of Allegheny County Drug Court by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The certification is in effect for three years.

Judge Nauhaus, a Senior Judge who presides over Drug Court, praised Shannon DeMino, Drug Court Supervisor in JRS, and Drug Court Specialists Jola Blecher, Caryn Mustakas and Sue Just.

The reaccreditation “could not have been possible without your tireless work,” Judge Nauhaus wrote. “Drug Court is as successful as it is because of it. I am very proud of you and the program. Thank you.”

Drug Court was established in 1998 to help people involved in the criminal justice system to access intensive drug treatment as an alternative to incarceration to help them adopt a productive, drug-free lifestyle.
