The Link Helps Spread the Word About the ACA

The Department of Human Services (DHS) Allegheny Link to Aging and Disability Resources (The Link) was among the sponsors of a Town Hall Forum on the Affordable Care Act, held Oct. 2 at the University Club in Oakland.

More than 300 people turned out to hear and ask questions of a panel that included Dr. Karen Hacker, Director of the Allegheny County Health Department, and representatives of health plans, consumer advocacy and education groups.

Besides The Link, sponsors were the University of Pittsburgh’s Schools of Social Work and Law and the Allegheny County APPRISE Program (the State Health Insurance Assistance Program).
