KUDOS: Paula Fanty and Allegheny County Justice Related Services
Allegheny County Justice Related Services (JRS), part of the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), received two laudatory thank you letters from both a consumer and his mother. The mother was referred to JRS as a resource for her son who had been released from prison and needed support for his mental illness.
“I only recently moved here from Ohio so I didn’t know anything about the system here or any agencies,” the mother writes. “I called NAMI and they were extremely helpful. The lady referred me to JRS and Paula Fanty was assigned to help [my son].” The mother continues by thanking Paula for being “caring and efficient” and “dedicated and dependable and non-judgmental.”
The consumer writes: “JRS has helped me change my life. Because JRS helped me when I got out of prison (2010) I was able to start over with some money, clothes, emotional and mental support too. Paula Fanty treated me with respect and gave me confidence that I could make it. I am so thankful for her and JRS. I don’t know where I’d be without your help.”
