Kudos: Kurt Emmerling
Kurt Emmerling, Advocacy, Protection and Care Management Bureau Chief in the Area Agency on Aging (AAA), was recognized at the 2012 Pennsylvania State Long-Term Care Ombudsman Annual Conference for his engaging keynote addresses.
“Finding out that I am the highest rated presenter at the conference and receiving a certificate of appreciation has been both unexpected and overwhelming,” Kurt said. “It’s an honor to be recognized for the quality of my work.”
The Ombudsman Enrichment Conference is held annually for ombudsmen supervisors, staff and volunteers who advocate for elderly consumers of long-term services. Kurt has been delivering the keynote address for the conference for the past eight years, and has presented on a variety of topics that include preventing caregiver stress and burnout, coping with grief and loss, ethics and professionalism in human services, mental health and the elderly, and knowing your inner advocate.
