AAA Administrator honored at Celebrating Senior Champions dinner
On Thursday, Nov. 3, Mildred Morrison, DHS Area Agency on Aging (AAA) administrator, is being honored as the Grand Champion Honoree at the 2011 Celebrating Senior Champions Dinner and Auction by the UPMC Senior Services, the Aging Institute and the Division of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh.
At the event, AAA will be recognized for its mission to assist Allegheny County residents, age 60 years and older, to live safe, healthy and, when possible, independent lives.
On Oct. 18, Morrison was also featured as a Newsmaker in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for this honor.
CYF Advisory Board member honored with mentoring award
This past September, Sue Gove, CYF Advisory Board member and CEO of Gove Group Inc., was named an Excellence in Mentoring Honoree by the Mentoring Partnership of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Gove was nominated by JoAnn Hannah, DHS Transition Programs manager, and will be recognized for this honor on Nov. 2 at the 2011 Magic of Mentoring Recognition Event at Heinz Field.
Gove was nominated for her commitment to mentoring college-aged foster youth through the Embark! Mentoring program.
