CYF hosts 11th annual Families United Celebration at Schenley Park
On Friday, August 19, hundreds of children and families gathered in Schenley Park to participate in the 11th annual Families United Celebration, an event hosted by the DHS Office of Children, Youth and Families (CYF).
Families United is an opportunity to celebrate the importance of strong, community-connected, and resilient families, and is an especially celebratory event for those families who have reunited, having been involved with child welfare.
At the event, the park surrounding the Schenley Park Ice Skating Rink was transformed into a festive and fun-filled space full of family-friendly games, activities, arts and crafts and more. Families also enjoyed a free, nutritious lunch and variety of free snacks including Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones.
In addition to activities and food, Families United also featured several performing acts, including balloon and caricature artists, magicians, musical groups and dancers.
