Candidates’ Comedy Night 2011 shows ‘different side’ of political, judicial contenders, tickets available
On Thursday, August 18, DHS will host Candidates' Comedy Night 2011, an annual fundraising event held at the Pittsburgh Improv at the Waterfront in Homestead.
The fundraiser, which benefits children and youth served through DHS and the Juvenile Section of the Family Division of the Court of Common Pleas, is an opportunity for candidates running for political office in the November general election to reveal their hidden talents and showcase their humor.
“Whether it’s singing, dancing or stand-up comedy, Candidates' Comedy Night always proves to be a great event where the public gets to see a different side of the candidates running for public office in Allegheny County,” said Ondréa Burton, events and donations manager for the DHS Office of Community Relations (OCR).
The 2011 featured candidate races are:
- Allegheny County Executive
- Judge of the Superior Court
- Judge of the Commonwealth Court
- Judge of the Court of Common Pleas
- Allegheny County Controller
- Allegheny County Treasurer
Tickets still available
Tickets for the event are still available by section with each section seating eight guests and are available at the following levels: Gold section, $750 donation; and Silver section, $500 donation. The Platinum level has already sold out.
